I grew up on a traditional working farm in the Yorkshire countryside. Here, I learned the art of sewing via the use of my Grandmother's old Singer hand machine. I started making my own clothes at the age of 11 and had completed my first patchwork quilt by the time I was 13. For the following years patchwork was my favourite pastime and in 1989 it became a full time endeavour. Several years later the opportunity arose to create my first memory quilt. A lady asked if I could make a patchwork quilt from her son's clothes who had sadly passed away 5 years earlier. After a very emotional phone call I agreed that I would do my best to help. The responsibility was overwhelming at first but once I started I found it to be an inspiration. The lady was overjoyed with the outcome and was incredibly grateful for the comfort the quilt had and would continue to bring to her and her family.

Years of experience has allowed me to perfect the many processes involved in quilt making. Patchwork is my passion, especially the memory quilts as they bring such comfort to so many people.
