The Story of the Watlington Primary School Quilt
I was recently approached by the secretary of the school and asked to make a patchwork quilt as a surprise retirement gift for the head teacher,
Mrs Briggs.
Nearly 300 children decorated their own 6” square of fabric, resulting in some fantastic imagination and originality! All these were then posted to me so I could stitch them together and then quilt it to form the finished king size quilt.
Everyone who has seen the quilt has been amazed by the children’s creativeness, humour, love and how unbelievably different every square is.
If you know a school/club/organisation etc. that would like to create something similar (not necessarily as large as the Watlington project!) then I am happy to help.
